The HypnoYin practice

Where Yin Yoga Meets Clinical Hypnotherapy

How It Began

During my own Yin Yoga practice, I noticed something powerful: as my body softened into the poses and my nervous system naturally shifted from activated to calm, I would drop into a trance-like state.

It wasn't something I was trying to create—it was simply what happened when my body felt safe and my mind would finally be less busy.

As both a Clinical Hypnotherapist and someone navigating chronic pain, I recognized this state. It was the same receptive, focused awareness we intentionally cultivate in hypnotherapy—but here, my body had created it organically through gentle, sustained movement. The hypnotic trance is something we naturally go into during the day, whenever we are deeply absorbed i.e. in a book, movie or conversation. Often enough we don’t even notice.

That's when I realized: what if we didn't just let this natural trance happen—what if we used it?

What if, while the body is releasing physical tension through Yin's long holds, we simultaneously work with the subconscious mind to shift the patterns and increase well-being?

That question became the foundation of the HypnoYin practice.

What Makes HypnoYin Different

It's Not Yin Yoga OR Hypnotherapy

Traditional Yin Yoga creates the conditions for deep healing. Your body softens into gentle, sustained poses. Your fascia releases, meridians are activated. Your nervous system shifts from sympathetic to parasympathetic, from alert to relax. A natural trance state emerges.

Clinical Hypnotherapy accesses your subconscious mind to shift patterns, release what's stuck, and anchor new, supportive responses.

HypnoYin brings both together—intentionally, therapeutically, in the exact moment your body-mind is most receptive.

  • The Body Opens the Door

Yin Yoga's gentle, sustained holds (3-5 minutes) work directly with your fascia—the connective tissue that holds tension, stress, and the physical memory of emotional experiences and pain.

As you settle into each pose, you connect to the body, as it begins to soften. Your breathing slows. Your nervous system recognizes: I'm safe. I can let go.

This enables the mind to become receptive.

When your nervous system shifts from sympathetic (fight/flight) to parasympathetic (rest/digest), your conscious mind naturally quiets. You drop into that peaceful, focused state—the same state we cultivate in hypnotherapy.

This is when your subconscious becomes more accessible.

Every HypnoYin session has a specific intention—whether that's pain management, building self-compassion, strengthening self-belief, regulating anxiety, or processing what your body has been holding.

While your body releases through the poses, I guide suggestions that align with this intention. Not forceful. Not bypassing. Just meeting you exactly where your nervous system is ready to receive.

Then, in the final deep relaxation (savasana), we move into hypnosis—anchoring the patterns of ease, safety, and healing your body has just experienced.

HypnoYin for Chronic Pelvic Pain & Endometriosis

Specialized classes for women navigating persistent pain and illness

These classes are designed specifically for bodies living with chronic pain and inflammation. Every pose, every suggestion, every moment is crafted to:

    • Release fascial tension in pain-affected areas

    • Shift pain patterns at the subconscious level

    • Anchor nervous system regulation

    • Build connections and trust with your body again

    • Connect with others who understand

Perfect for: Women with endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain or other persistent pain conditions.

  • HypnoYin works when other approaches don’t, because your body and mind aren't separate.

Chronic pain isn't just physical. Anxiety isn't just mental. Everything you carry — stress, grief, exhaustion — lives in both.

HypnoYin addresses both layers—simultaneously, in the moment they're most receptive to change.

  • During a Session:

    • Deep physical release (fascia softening, tension melting)

    • Mental clarity emerging from the quiet

    • A peaceful, focused trance state

    • Feeling held and safe

    • Connection between body sensations and emotions

    • Sometimes insights, sometimes just ease

    After Regular Practice:

    • greater physical mobility and flexibility

    • Shifted pain patterns (less intensity, less frequency)

    • Improved nervous system regulation

    • Better sleep

    • Greater self-compassion

    • Feeling more "at home" in your body

    • feeling more equipped to deal with anxiety or pain

  • This practice is for you if you:

    • Live with chronic pain that hasn't responded to conventional treatment alone

    • Experience stress or anxiety that lives in your body (tension, hypervigilance, dysregulation)

    • Carry trauma your body remembers but your mind can't fully process

    • Feel disconnected from or at war with your body

    • Are open to working with both your body and subconscious mind

    You don't need:

    • Yoga experience (all levels welcome, fully adaptable)

    • Flexibility (Yin is about softening, not stretching)

    • To be pain-free (poses are modified for your body)

    • Previous hypnotherapy experience

The Heart of HypnoYin

HypnoYin isn't about pushing through or forcing anything. It's about creating the conditions — in body and mind — where healing can arise on its own. Where your nervous system can finally settle into: I'm safe. I can let go. I can rest.

Your body knows how to release. Your subconscious knows how to shift.

HypnoYin simply holds the space for both — together, gently, at your own pace.

About the Creator

I'm Elleen Berger—Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner, and I created HypnoYin.

After decades navigating chronic pain and anxiety, I discovered this fusion not in a textbook, but in my own body. In the quiet moments of my Yin practice, when my nervous system finally felt safe enough to release, I recognized the therapeutic potential of this natural trance state.

HypnoYin is my answer to what I needed—and couldn't find—in my own healing journey.

It's for women like me. Like you. Who need more than symptom management. Who are ready to work with both body and mind. Who deserve compassionate, evidence-based support that honours how deeply interconnected our healing truly is.
